(Q) WHAT DOES THE ESSAY HAVE TO BE ABOUT?

(Q) WHERE ARE THE LESSONS AT?

(A) THE FLYING LESSONS TAKE PLACE AT COLLEGE PARK AIRPORT IN COLLEGE PARK, MD AND ONLINE.

(Q) HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAM?

(A) THE PROGRAM WILL TAKE 1- 2 MONTHS TO COMPLETE PENDING WEATHER, MAINTENANCE, AND OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS.

 

(Q) WHAT IS THE PROGRAM EXACTLY?

(A) DURING THIS PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL BE DONATED 10 HOURS OF FLIGHT TIME TO LEARN THE BASICS OF FLYING AN AIRPLANE.ULTIMATELY, THE GOAL IS TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO UNDERSTAND THE SKILLS REQUIRED TO BECOME AN AVIATOR AND HELP THEM DETERMINE IF IT IS SOMETHING THEY’D LIKE TO PURSUE. THEY WILL ALSO HAVE A CHANCE TO SEE OTHER AVIATION RELATED INDUSTRIES THAT MAY BE OF INTEREST TO THEM.

(Q) WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE AFTER THE PROGRAM?

(A) AFTER THE 10 HOURS ARE FLOWN, STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONTINUE THEIR FLIGHT TRAINING AT A DISCOUNTED RATE. UPON COMPLETION, STUDENTS WILL BE LICENSED PRIVATE PILOTS. WE WILL THEN WORK WITH STUDENTS TO HELP THEM EARN A GROUND INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATE SO THAT THEY CAN EARN WAGES TEACHING AND SHARING THEIR NEW SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE WITH OTHERS (ON THE GROUND).

(Q) CAN BOYS SIGN UP?

(A) WHILE THIS PROGRAM IS ONLY FOR YOUNG WOMEN AGES 17-20, YOUNG MEN CAN STILL SIGN UP FOR FLIGHT LESSONS AND TRAIN. THERE WILL BE AN ANNOUNCEMENT MADE IN THE NEAR FUTURE OF A SCHOLARSHIPS FOR YOUNG MEN. 

(Q) IF I WORK OR GO TO SCHOOL, HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO FLY?

(A) TO BE ACHIEVE THE GOALS SET FORTH IN THE PROGRAM, STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO FLY AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK. LESSONS CAN BE TAKEN ANYTIME BETWEEN 8AM- 6PM 7 DAYS A WEEK.
